Liu Chungliang, better known as John Liu, is an actor and martial artist originally from Taiwan. His career focused primarily on low-budget martial arts and action films produced in Taiwan. Despite his talent and martial skills, he never had the opportunity to participate in Hong Kong’s biggest budget productions, such as the famous films from the Shaw Brothers studios and Golden Harvest. These companies were known for their large productions and for launching many martial arts actors to fame, but Liu remained in the field of Taiwanese independent cinema.
