Nashville (Tenn.) Christian quarterback Jared Curtis, 247Sports No. 1 prospect in 2026 has committed to Georgia his mother tells 247Sports. The family is back in Athens this weekend spending time with head coach Kirby Smart and his staff.
“He just told coach Kirby,” Barbara Curtis said. “We are so excited.“
Curtis chose Georgia over Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and South Carolina among others.
“Just the way all their coaching staff is together and how are they are supportive to each other and I know they’re settled and not going anywhere,” Curtis said in the past of what stands out. He’s already been on the UGA campus several times early in his process. Mike Bobo and Montgomery VanGorder are two he’s grown close with.
“Just the way they’ll develop me as a person and player and the people around me will always help me get to the next level.”
Curtis has had a couple big seasons to open his high school career throwing for 2,522 yards and 25 touchdowns to just nine interceptions as a junior with another 543 yards rushing and 13 more scores. As a freshman he passed for 2,285 yards and 27 touchdowns with only eight interceptions with 481 yards on the ground and seven scores.
