Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is setting records despite facing multiple hurdles this season.
First, he dropped a key pass against Washington in Week 2 that cost the Giants a win. Then, he suffered a concussion in Week 4 against Dallas that kept him out of two games. Since he’s come back, he’s averaged just 59 yards per game over the six games.
Nabers’ longest catch of the season has gone for 39 yards. He has been vocal about his opportunities — or lack thereof — and has said this week that he could be “doing more” to help the team.
He has had a drop issue (he’s third in the NFL in that category) and has had to deal with a revolving door at quarterback and shoddy game planning and play calling.
This week, Nabers is hurting (hip, groin) and is in danger of missing the game on Sunday versus the Saints. His trying inaugural season continues.
