Ohio State cornerback coach Tim Walton has taken Buckeye cornerback recruiting to another level. After signing three of the country’s top 2024 cornerbacks in Aaron Scott, Bryce West and Miles Lockhart, Walton landed a commitment from Devin Sanchez, who is the country’s No. 1 corner in the 247Sports 2025 rankings and No. 2 corner in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Walton also has a commitment from Blake Woodby who is a high 4-star 2025 cornerback in the rankings.
Walton now has another absolutely huge addition to his impressive work recruiting cornerbacks. Elite 2025 cornerback Na’eem Offord from Birmingham (Ala.) Parker has committed to Ohio State. Offord is the country’s No. 2 corner in the 247Sports rankings and No. 1 corner in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Offord made his second Ohio State visit this weekend, just after Tim Walton stopped to see him again this past week. Offord made the visit with his mother, father and other family members. Offord had also visited Ohio State during the summer.
Parker head coach Frank Warren told Bucknuts things went very well when Walton stopped at Parker High School this past week. “He talked to me and Na’eem,” Warren said. “Ne’eem had just finished his track workout. He let him know he wants him to be part of their program.”
Offord has a list of scholarship offers that, in addition to Ohio State, includes Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Clemson, USC and many others.
Offord, who has been a varsity starter since his 8th grade season, played cornerback, running back and wide receiver during his junior season.
The 6-foot-1 and 185-pound Offord is a 5-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 5 overall 2025 prospect, the No. 1 cornerback and the No. 1 prospect in Alabama.
ANALYSIS
In landing Offord the Buckeyes have gone into the state of Alabama, a good state for prep football talent, but a state the Buckeyes have not had any success in. But not anymore. They have not only had success but spectacular success in landing the No. 1 prospect in the state, which is an incredible feat. Ryan Day, Walton and Mark Pantoni have gotten the job done! And the Buckeyes have beaten out virtually every top program in the country in doing so.
The Buckeyes have landed a super talent that can shut down the best receivers in the country. With Sanchez, they have shutdown corners on both sides of the field now.
And with Nick Saban having retired the Buckeyes have the best opportunity they have had in the state of Alabama and have made a huge recruiting strike in that state with Offord.
With Offord, Sanchez, Woodby, Scott, West and Lockhart the Buckeyes have arguably the top array of cornerback talent brought into the program in back-to-back classes ever.
Offord is an elite cornerback talent that I think will get meaningful reps his first year at Ohio State and I don’t rule out him moving into the starting lineup at some point during his first season as a Buckeye. He can be a two to three-year starter for the Buckeyes and a future 1st-round NFL draft choice perhaps as a “three and done guy.”
