The reigning back-to-back champions continue to take their success from the hardwood to the recruiting trail.
On Wednesday evening, Braylon Mullins, the No. 17 overall recruit in the country, committed to Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies, he announced live on 247Sports.
The 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard out of Greenfield (Ind.) Central committed to UConn over his two finalists: North Carolina and Indiana.
“I picked UConn because I feel that the style of play fit me the best out of the three schools,” Mullins told 247Sports. “I had a really good relationship with the coaching staff. They showed me a lot on my first visit there and kept up with me all of the way, That meant a lot to me. I knew where I wanted to go and I made that decision.”
Mullins is the third commitment for UConn in the 2025 class, joining highly touted four-star recruits Eric Reibe and Darius Adams. UConn now holds the No. 2 overall class in the country.

Since Hurley was hired at UConn, he has built the program back to being a massive power across the country and his style of coaching and winning is resonating with top recruits.
“I think he knows how to win and he knows how to coach you to win,” Mullins said of what stands out about Hurley. “Whenever I talk to Coach Hurley, he really wanted me. I felt wanted and he said that he needed me. Their style of play fit me the best.”
When Mullins entered his recruitment, it was expected that it would be a tough task to pull him away from home in Indiana. But, through many conversations and film sessions, Hurley & Co. were able to complete a major recruiting victory.
“He was more of trying to drag me away from home,” Mullins said of UConn’s pitch. “He showed a lot of Cam Spencer highlights, a lot of off-ball, on-ball and ball-screen actions. He was just showing me a lot of what I was capable of doing in that offense. He brings a lot of defense to the table too. You got to play hard and you got to work hard and I wanted to be coached by that. He definitely pitched that to me and I liked the pitch.”
What will the five-star guard be bringing to Storrs?
“I’m an athletic shooter, I can do a lot,” Mullins said. “I am known for shooting the ball at a high level, a high clip. And I want to bring defensive intensity to the floor, which is well-known at UConn. And just being an athlete.”
