The Philadelphia Eagles’ win of the NFC East will secure them the No. 2 seed in the 2025 NFL Playoffs, making their Week 18 game against the New York Giants irrelevant.
The Eagles stumbled down the stretch due to Jalen Hurts’ concussion, though the team is still primed to make some noise in the postseason.
Philadelphia should have most of its roster healthy for the playoffs, especially since its starters are sitting out the regular season finale against New York.
Players sitting include star running back Saquon Barkley, who was on the cusp of making history, just short of breaking the all-time rushing record set by Los Angeles Rams legend Eric Dickerson.
Barkley admitted that he wanted to try to break the record, but head coach Nick Sirianni and the team felt it best to rest him.
However, Terry Bradshaw didn’t agree with the decision and let his honest thoughts be known via NFL on FOX.
“They didn’t give him the option,” Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw noted that Barkley playing meant the offensive line would need to play, but he also acknowledged that he would’ve liked to try and attempt breaking the record.
Bradshaw then explained that he was in a similar situation, sitting even though he had an opportunity to earn a contract incentive for passing yards.
Players should be allowed to try and make history if they’re in a position to do so, but Barkley will just have to accept the rest and hopefully the chance to win a Super Bowl.
