Gauff played a phenomenal match, and solidified herself as the woman to beat at the 2025 Australian Open. Both Coco and Iga faced criticism towards the end of the match: Gauff for her celebration, and Iga for taking a medical time out & giving a ‘salty’ handshake. Naomi Osaka had a disappointing finish to her Auckland final, being forced to retire again Clara Tauson due to an abdominal injury.
