Niclas Füllkrug has had one one of the more fascinating careers in recent memory. At almost 30-years-old, his wonder season with Werder Bremen put him on the international stage and impressed enough to not only get a Borussia Dortmund transfer, but even move on to the Premier League. However, the underdog story has taken a turn for the worse as Füllkrug was once again injured this weekend.
The West Ham United striker had just recovered from a previous injury when he was taken off just 15 minutes into the match against Aston Villa.
Ist das bitter! Die Diagnose bei Niclas Füllkrug (31/ ) ist mittlerweile da – nach Sky Infos fällt der Nationalstürmer für einen längeren Zeitraum aus. The German striker had actually scored twice and provided an assist in very limited minutes for the London club so far in the Premier League. Not a bad haul necessarily, but clearly Füllkrug was eager to make his big impact. This will now of course, be delayed a reported three months.
This is a huge blow for Germany as well, who were likely looking to allow Füllkrug to the striker position in the crucial March fixtures against Italy. For now, West Ham and Germany will need other talent to step up. Get better soon Fülle!
