If Steve Sarkisian was interested in leaving the Texas Longhorns and going to the NFL to be a head coach, more than likely that news would be all over after Texas’ College Football Playoff loss to Ohio State.
It’s still early, the Longhorns’ season just ended due to their 28-14 loss to OSU in the Cotton Bowl — which doubled as one of the CFP semifinal games — so news could always come out in the next week regarding Sark.
We know there’s interest from the several NFL teams with head coaching vacancies in him. That much was reported last week by Adam Schefter. Now that Texas’ season is over, though, Schefter is reporting that it’s still unclear whether or not there’s mutual interest.
Meaning, nobody quite yet knows how Sarkisian feels about it.
“Steve Sarkisian is a name that has swirled around out there in NFL circles for weeks now. His season’s over. If there were a team that wanted to talk to him, they could obviously go do that, and we’ll see whether or not he has interest in going back to the NFL,” Schefter said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” (h/t On3).
