Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is inching closer to its UFC 311 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for this Sat. night (Jan. 18, 2025) at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. Headlining this weekend’s mixed martial arts (MMA) fight card will be the lightweight title fight pitting reigning division kingpin, Islam Makhachev, against No. 1-ranked challenger, Arman Tsarukyan. In the UFC 311 co-main event, newly-minted bantamweight champion, Merab Dvalishvili, collides with undefeated 135-pound nemesis, Umar Nurmagomedov.
Not surprisingly, the promotion will roll out its A-team for broadcast and commentary duties.
Longtime play-by-play man Jon Anik leads the cageside charge, alongside color commentary legend Joe Rogan and former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier. As usual, “Veteran Voice of the Octagon” Bruce Buffer will handle fighter walkouts while roving reporter Megan Olivi covers pre- and post-fight interviews.
That’s according to MMA Fighting.
Retired UFC lightweight Din Thomas will pop in throughout the show with insight and feedback from a coaching perspective. In addition, former UFC middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen and current 205-pound bruiser Anthony Smith will be mic’d up at the analyst desk for all the combat sports chatter in “The City of Angels.”
