The Houston Texans were considered the most likely home team to be eliminated from the Wild Card Round last weekend due to their injuries and inconsistent finish to the 2024 NFL season.
However, the Texans proved their worth with a convincing win over the Chargers, advancing to the AFC Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs.
C.J. Stroud endured a rough sophomore season after his breakout rookie campaign, during which he looked like the next young superstar quarterback.
Stroud has struggled with keeping plays alive due to the poor quality of the offensive line.
However, he showed up against Los Angeles with a cool and calm game that allowed Houston to stay comfortably ahead.
However, Stroud now needs to deal with Kansas City’s stout defense on the road, and that will be a monumental task.
While most people expect the Chiefs to win rather easily, Micah Parsons isn’t counting Stroud and the Texans out via B/R Gridiron.
“I understand his struggles earlier in the season, middle of the season but the way he played against the Chargers defense and made plays, made things happen…I think a lot of people written C.J. off but I’m not gonna write out C.J. Stroud yet. I think he’s an elite competitor, he’s a dog, and he can find a way to beat Patrick Mahomes,” Parsons said.

In the NFL, teams can win on any given week so it’s not like it’d be impossible for Stroud to lead an upset.
Time will tell, but the Chiefs can’t take the Texans as lightly as they might have.
