Since arriving at Bayer Leverkusen from Stade Rennes last summer, Martin Terrier has been hit by injury after injury – and now he’s facing another spell on the sidelines.
The Frenchman was forced off early in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach with what appears to be a serious injury.
“It doesn’t look good,” revealed Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso in a post-match interview.
“There will be tests tomorrow, but the feeling at the moment is not good. The way he looked backwards is typical of an Achilles injury. It’s a shame for Martin.”
Granit Xhaka sympathized with his teammate and, like Alonso, had a bad feeling about the injury.
“I really hope it’s not what we think and what he felt. It would be a slap in the face for the club and us players. It’s something that will keep you out for a while.”
