Daniil Medvedev had a very unproductive Australian Open in several ways. First, the three-time finalist was knocked out in the second round by 19-year-old qualifier, which marks his earliest loss since his debut in Melbourne in 2017.
Second he was docked $76,000 for two separate violations, and could end up paying more as he is still on the hook for replacing the camera that he violently smashed during his first-round win over World No.418 Kasidit Samrej.

Medvedev was hit with a $10,000 fine for code violations in the first round, and another $66,000 for multiple violations during his loss to Tien, including a fine for skipping his post-match press conference.
Medvedev said after his first-round match that he hoped the fine wouldn’t be too high.
“I hope not too big, because probably, the fine is usually for breaking the racquet, and the camera is going to cost some, but I don’t think Go Pro is that expensive,” he said. “What I have to say is the camera was very, very strong, because my racquet didn’t handle the damage.”
At this time it is unknown what the additional cost of the net camera will be.
