The NFL and college seasons are coming to a close with the playoffs happening this week.
The 2025 NFL Playoffs are heating up as several Divisional Round games are worth tuning into, most notably the matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame and Ohio State are slated to face off in the CFP National Championship Game.
The collegiate coaching staff always has many moving parts, though many eyes have been on USC, which has been looking to return to the championship game.
Under head coach Lincoln Riley, the Trojans have underwhelmed in certain areas, and much of that is due to their defense.
However, the team’s defensive coaching staff got a major boost when former NFL assistant Bob Ryan agreed to become the team’s new lead assistant head coach for defense and linebackers coach via Trojan Football.

Rob has decades of professional coaching experience.
His most successful stint was with the New England Patriots, where he coached their linebackers during their first two Super Bowl wins.
Rob is also the twin brother of Rex Ryan, who is currently being considered for the head coaching job with the New York Jets.
The longtime assistant coach is a great addition to USC, which could use more experience on the sidelines.
It’ll be interesting to see what impact he can make next season.
