Despite what you may have seen from the news about Alphonso Davies, you can’t deny the fact that he has been converted (read: wholly convinced by the Bayern Munich board) amidst the chaos of his transfer saga. How, I hear you ask? Well, he told his own agent that he doesn’t want out:
Alphonso Davies has told his agent that he wants to stay at Bayern. Firstly, he feels comfortable at the club, and secondly, he would not earn as much at Real Madrid as he would in Munich. Bayern have recently approached Davies again and increased their offer a bit. The signs are now pointing towards an extension.

If that report is true, it just proves that Davies was never about the money; it’s his agent who wants more money, it always has been. That said, this is a win for all parties involved, including Davies’ former club Vancouver Whitecaps. With the Canadian set to ink a four-year deal, the MLS club could earn up to €20 million in total from clauses in his original contract. The B.C. club saw the initial €10 million figure paid by Bayern grow to €14 million at some point before.
Bayern Munich is in the midst of a number of important contract situation, so let’s talk about them on the Bavarian Podcast Works Show! Is Jamal Musiala a big enough draw to lure other top flight players (like Cristiano Ronaldo or Leo Messi)? Will Bayern end up paying too much for Alphonso Davies? Is Joshua Kimmich really going to leave? We cover it all!
