The Kansas City Chiefs are on track to achieve a prestigious “three-peat” as they prepare to face the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game this Sunday.
The Chiefs finished the 2024 NFL season as the best team in the league, compiling a 15-2 record and earning a first-round bye in the 2025 NFL Playoffs.
Although Kansas City has not been an explosive offense this year, the team is winning due to their ability to play complementary football.
Patrick Mahomes was relegated to more of a game manager during the regular season, though he steps up in the playoffs when necessary.
No one is betting against Mahomes, who could solidify his legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history if he manages to win a fourth Super Bowl championship.
However, Mahomes and his family will be dealing with some personal news during the playoffs after his mom announced her father is in hospice care via MLFootball.
“Heartbreaking: #Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes mother, Randi, posted that her father is now in hospice. “My dad is in hospice & I’m lost for words ” Our thoughts and prayers are with Randi, Patrick, and the entire family.”

This is terrible news for the Mahomes family and comes at an unfortunate time, given the Chiefs’ playoff prospects.
Mahomes has faced personal issues in the past, but this latest situation is especially challenging.
Hopefully, things work out for the Mahomes family, as there are more important things than sports.
