Vadim Nemkov continues his assault on the Professional Fighters League (PFL) Heavyweight division, improving to 2-0 since making the jump after vacating the Bellator Light Heavyweight title last year.
His latest win came earlier today (Sat., Jan 25, 2025) in the co-main event of PFL’s “Road To Dubai” event, submitting Tim Johnson in the very first-round with a suffocating rear-naked choke. With the win, Nemkov improves his overall record to 17-2-1, and is unbeaten in his last 13 fights.
Prior to the fight, Nemkov — who just completed the last fight on his contract — revealed that he would like to continue his career with PFL as long as matchmakers promised to keep him busy. If he does decide to hang around, a huge fight against Francis Ngannou could be inching closer.
The current favorite to face “The Predator” next is Denis Goltsov, who won the 2024 PFL Heavyweight championship by submitting Oleg Popov last November (see it again here). Of course, that fight has yet to be made official so I wouldn’t put it past PFL officials to lure Nemkov into staying with a fight against Ngannou.
