Manthey Racing has announced that it will expand its presence in the DTM this year by fielding a third example of the Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The team, partly owned by Porsche itself, has signed Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Morris Schuring to partner incumbents Thomas Preining and Ayanchan Guven in the German GT3 category.
Schuring, who raced for the squad in the WEC’s new LMGT3 class last year and finished second in the standings, will make his DTM debut at the age of 20 and race under the Manthey Junior Team banner.
Preining, the 2023 DTM champion, and Bathurst 12 Hour winner Guven will again be entered under Manthey EMA.
“For me, the DTM has always been one of the series I wanted to drive in,” said Dutch driver Schuring, who will not continue in the WEC this year.
“It’s a dream come true and I’m particularly proud to be doing it with Manthey. They are one of the best teams, which they’ve proven by winning the 2023 DTM title.
“Last year we won Le Mans together and I am happy to now be working with them in a sprint series as well.
“I love sprint racing and the DTM gives me the opportunity to really prove myself as a driver.
“Thanks to my experience in the Porsche Carrera Cup, I already know seven of the DTM circuits – only the Norisring will be new to me.”
Manthey was the only outfit to represent Porsche in the DTM last year, as Guven moved across from Team Bernhard to join Preining and replace Ford-bound Dennis Olsen.
Guven capped off a relatively difficult year with a podium finish in the Hockenheim finale, while Preining was an outside title contender for much of the year and eventually ended up a solid fifth in the standings with a sole victory at the Lausitzring.
Manthey EMA was classified sixth in the teams’ standings, while Porsche was placed fifth in the manufacturers’ table.
“After our expectations were not met in 2024, but we were very satisfied with our team’s performance, we are looking forward to competing in the DTM in 2025 with an even stronger lineup. In our third season in the series, we want to fully attack again,” said Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of the Manthey Racing GmbH.
“I am delighted that Ayhancan and Thomas will be staying with our team and hope that this year’s results will reflect the very good cooperation.

“Morris had a very successful WEC season in 2024. He is a young driver who has really impressed us with his performances, so the next logical step is the DTM.”
Porsche will have a second team in its DTM roster this year, with Allied Racing having announced its entry into the series in December.
The German squad, which has past experience of competing in GT Masters and GT World Challenge Europe, will field a pair of Porsche GT3 cars for ex-Audi ace Ricardo Feller and 21-year-old Bastian Buus.
