Israel Adesanya is getting some extra motivation during UFC Saudi Arabia fight week.
The former UFC middleweight champion recently had a visit from longtime friend and ex-heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou, there to support “The Last Stylebender” as he prepares for his Nassourdine Imavov main event on Sat night (Feb. 1) in Riyadh.
“Just two days before the battle for my brother, but he’s stress-free and in high spirits; he even looks younger!” Ngannou wrote on social media.
Adesanya and Ngannou, along with former UFC welterweight titleholder Kamaru Usman, were simultaneously champions during the “Three Kings” era.
UFC Saudi Arabia marks the first non-title fight for Adesanya (24-4) since early 2019. The 35 year-old middleweight is looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, the first two-fight losing streak of his professional career.
