Bayern Munich player Malik Tillman was on loan at PSV during the 2023/24 season, working his way towards a regular inclusion in the starting XI but not showing quite enough for Bayern to retain him, as the Bavarians decided to allow him to move to the Dutch champions on a permanent basis. This season, Tillman has taken some gigantic strides towards filling his potential. He is now an undroppable member of the starting XI, starring multiple times in the Champions League and bagging 11 goals in all competitions from midfield at the time of writing.
These accomplishments have seen Tillman inevitably linked with a move away from PSV, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United linked with the American international. Still, Tillman dreams of making it at his old stomping ground:
“It is my dream to return to Bayern in the future, although I know they already have great players,” Tillman readily stated, via @iMiaSanMia. “I grew up in Bavaria, my mother lives there and quite a few people who have followed me for years. Many know some things by now regarding my contract at PSV.”
Those known details about his contract Tillman is referring to is likely the 35 million euro buy back clause that Bayern is strongly rumored to have included in his contract. Considering Jamal Musiala’s uncertain future at the club and Thomas Müller’s physical decline, could a return to Munich be on the cards for the former Glasgow Rangers loan player? Certainly, Bayern could do worse than securing one of Europe’s up and coming young attacking midfielders.
