One of the most explosive boxing matchups of the year will unfold tomorrow night (Sat., Feb. 1, 2025) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as interim WBC Light Heavyweight Champion David Benavidez (29-0, 24 KO) meets WBA Light Heavyweight Champion David Morrell Jr. (11-0, 9 KO) in a pivotal matchup of proven knockout artists.
Fight fans can now check out the final staredown between Benavidez and Morrell following Friday’s official weigh ins (replay HERE).
To say that these two guys hate each other would be a vast understatement. At Thursday’s pre-fight press conference, Benavidez stood on stage and called Morrell a “p—y” to his face. It seemed like the two light heavyweights could start swinging at any second. Fortunately for the sake of Saturday’s title fight, the press conference only featured trash talk.

Still, fight fans are super excited to see how this matchup plays out on Saturday. Benavidez has fought the better competition throughout his career and is expected to be able to get past Morrell, but the Cuban fighter is no slouch inside of the ring. It should be a great matchup to say the least and a main event that will spit out the next bona fide star at 175 pounds.
On Friday, Benavidez and Morrell came face-to-face for one final staredown. The intensity was high. Check it out below and let us know who you’re rolling with for Saturday’s main event clash:
