After it was recently announced that Hoffenheim captain and first-choice goalkeeper Oliver Baumann will be sidelined for weeks with an injury, the Bundesliga side have opted to bring in a new shot-stopper.
Former Union Berlin goalkeeper Jakob Busk has arrived on loan from Danish Superliga side Sønderjyske for the remainder of the season and will act as back-up to Luca Philipp.
“Luca Philipp has our full confidence for the coming weeks. We are convinced that he will be a worthy replacement for our captain Oliver Baumann in the TSG goal during his injury break,” explained Hoffenheim’s managing director for sport, Andreas Schicker.
“With our youth goalkeeper Lukas Petersson also injured at the moment, we already announced that we would be looking for another goalkeeper on the transfer market.
“In Jakob Busk, we have now found an extremely experienced goalkeeper who knows the German top flight from his time at Union Berlin. He will support Luca with all his experience and complete our goalkeeping team until the end of the current season.”
