Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase led the NFL in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and receiving touchdowns (17) this past season and now he’s looking for a contract that reflects that.
“At the end of the day, I just hope I get what’s fair,” Chase told ESPN’s Laura Rutledge on Friday. “Hopefully, I don’t put too much pressure on anybody, but I just want it to be fair, that’s all.
“Fair is what I deserve. I can’t really say everything I want to say. It’s what I deserve, it’s what I’ve worked for, how hard I worked for. It’s a written story already. It should be fair change.”
Following the 2025 Pro Bowl Games on Sunday, in which the NFC bested Chase’s AFC, the veteran receiver posted a cryptic message on X aimed at New York Giants legend Eli Manning.
@EliManning don’t forget our lil convo . I’ll be waiting 👀😂

With the potential contract standoff in mind, Chase’s comments sent Giants fans into a frenzy of speculation.

Although Chase does have some ties to Malik Nabers given their LSU past, it’s more likely that the Bengals wideout was referencing something related to the Pro Bowl Games.
More honest speculation would be that Chase wants to play for Eli Manning next year as opposed to Peyton Manning and the AFC after the Giants legend led his team to a three-peat on Sunday.
It’s all fun and games during the All-Star showcase and Chase’s post is likely tongue-in-cheek.
Still, it’s fun for Giants fans to dream.
