Over the past couple of years, NFL fans have had plenty to say about the Kansas City Chiefs and the referees.
Many fans accuse the referees of favoring the Chiefs, and Patrick Mahomes getting the ultimate superstar whistle.
Of course, this isn’t the first time fans have accused the referees of this.
Many fans said the same thing about Tom Brady for the better part of two decades.
That’s why Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce was frustrated with how the media appeared to embrace this narrative.
When talking to the press ahead of the Super Bowl, the future Hall of Famer criticized the media for getting involved in this (via FOX Sports: NFL).

Truth be told, the whole ‘the NFL is rigged’ narrative lacks fundamental logic.
If the league wanted to help a team, the Dallas Cowboys wouldn’t have gone decades without a Super Bowl appearance, the New York Giants wouldn’t be one of the worst teams in the league, and the San Francisco 49ers would’ve had more rings by now.
Kansas City, Missouri, does not have the largest sports market by any means.
Naturally, it’s difficult to dismiss some of the calls that Mahomes and the Chiefs have received, particularly regarding roughing the passer.
Then again, Mahomes also deserves a lot of credit for bending the rules to his advantage, which is part of the game too.
