There are few more funny introductory press conferences than Michael Olise’s for Bayern Munich. As he sat down to talk to reporters, they continually peppered the Frenchman with questions, only to be met with a one sentence answer. Any attempt to extract information out of him was met with a stony look and a one syllable answer.
It was humorous, but many also allowed this to paint a picture of Olise as some humorless block instead of a sympathetic person. However, compatriot Kingsley Coman knows to refute this perception of the former Crystal Palace winger.
“I didn’t really know him before,” Coman said, via @iMiaSanMia. “But when he signed and I watched a couple of games at the Olympics, I was like: yeah he’s good! He doesn’t talk a lot. But he’s a really nice and funny guy. You need to be close to him.”
Never judge a book by its’ cover. Or a footballer by their public persona. Or their introductory press conference, for that matter.
