The New York Giants will be seeking a new starting quarterback for the upcoming 2025 season.
That’s not news. We all know they will likely take a look at all of their options in free agency, via a trade, and/or in the 2025 NFL draft, where they own the third overall pick.
One new name has emerged as a possibility for them this past week — future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.
Big scoopage: Aaron Rodgers flew back to New Jersey last week to meet with the Jets about his future with the team, only to be told that the team was moving on from him. If that means that he will be a June 1 designation that allows him to sign with any team in the league on…

Rodgers’ current team, the New York Jets, are under new management, and incoming general manager head coach Aaron Glenn wants to turn the page on the quarterback’s tenure in New York.
But will Rodgers consider staying in the Big Apple and playing for the Giants until they find their next franchise quarterback?
Rodgers, 41, is still productive. In 2024, he played in all 17 games for Gang Green, completing 368 of 584 passes for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns versus 11 interceptions. He also rushed 22 times for 107 rushing yards.
Rodgers comes with a lot of baggage, no doubt, but he’d be a solid bridge for the Giants and would certainly shift the flagging narrative of the franchise.
In which direction remains to be seen. Can the Giants fit Rodgers in their short-term financial plans? Can he co-exist with head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka?
All valid questions. This seems like a long shot. The Giants need to get more clarity on their future and signing Rodgers does not offer that. They are more likely to add a different, less-expensive veteran and take one in the draft.
