The official start of the offseason across the entire NFL came after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, and there are plenty of teams that didn’t reach the big game that are facing some tough questions.
For the Miami Dolphins, this will be an offseason when they will have to figure out how to improve a roster that has a solid amount of talent, especially on offense, but only yielded an 8-9 record this season.
Miami didn’t make the playoffs, and after its final game had to listen to star wide receiver Tyreek Hill raise the idea that he wanted to leave the team.
One NFL analyst feels the Dolphins are facing the toughest offseason of any team in the league, partly because of their salary cap situation.
“Dolphins are coming off a disappointingly ‘mid’ season and are a concerning $11-plus million in the red,” Matt Okada of NFL.com wrote, via FinsXtra.

Miami has one of football’s best and most talented wide receiver duos in Hill and Jaylen Waddle, as well as a rising dual-threat running back in De’Von Achane and an underrated quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa.
But Hill’s numbers were way down this season. After posting a league-high 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 2023, he mustered just 959 yards and six touchdowns this season.
Following Miami’s final game, Hill made public comments that heavily implied he wanted to be traded, which caused some panic among fans, but he seemed to walk them back in recent days by saying he wants to stick around.

The Dolphins need lots of help on their offensive line, as well as some reinforcements on defense, and it remains to be seen how they will try to make such improvements.
