“Senor Perfecto” has called it a career.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight Bill Algeo randomly announced his retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA) today (Tues., Feb. 11, 2025) on Instagram.
“Decided to hang em up for realz this time
This game has been good to me and helped me develop and become a better person. It’s going to be strange not having a fight coming up (unless Fauci decides to man up), but I’ll be guiding the next generation over at @algeomma.
I’ve met plenty of cool ppl along the way chasing their dreams and shared the cage with some rivals, friends and heroes of mine.Thank you to the @ufc and the @ufc staff for taking care of me and for having the balls to bring sports back safely in the pandemic. My gym was labeled non-essential for 3-4 months and the ufc helped provide income during that weird time. #forevergrateful
Thank you to my ppls who have been with me since the beginning and buying tickets to random casinos to help me live my dream. Thank you to @santtiiii for helping me through the ups and downs of this game cause there’s been plenty.
Love yall”
Algeo, 35, faked his retirement in 2023 after his win over T.J. Brown at UFC Kansas City, and it went over like a fart in church.
UFC CEO Dana White wasn’t happy with it.
Nevertheless, “Senor Perfecto” went 5-5 inside the Octagon, scoring wins over Joanderson Brito, Alexander Hernandez, and Herbert Burns.
Algeo picked up two ‘Fight of the Night’ bonuses and one ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. He leaves the sport of MMA riding a two-fight losing streak.
