Michael “Venom” Page just fought in Saudi Arabia on February 1st, but he’s pushing hard to come back as soon as possible, as many times as possible.
The slick British striker just beat surging prospect Shara “Bullet” Magomedov, barely taking any damage in the process. Now he’s hoping the UFC might turn him around as soon as March 22nd, when the promotion returns to London for a big Fight Night headlined by Leon Edwards vs. Jack Della Maddalena.
“It depends how quickly I get a turnaround fight,” he told Mirror Fighting. “If they were to give me a fight on the London card — I don’t think I’d get the chance unless they go, ‘Oh look, we’ve got a fight for you,’ and it was at middleweight because that makes it easier — I’ll probably do that.”
UFC London is a long shot — the card already has 13 fights, and the only big match he might step into is the welterweight clash between Edwards and Della Maddalena. We know he’s game, but is he ‘fight Leon Edwards on short notice’ game? More realistic is his desire to fight at UFC 314 on April 12th.
“The following month, in Miami, I’m actually looking for,” Page said. “It gives me a little bit more time to cut down and get back down to welterweight. So, I’m probably hoping to get back on that show.”
If “MVP” has his way, he’ll fight four times in 2025.
“I’d probably say April, July, October, that’d be an exceptional year for me,” he said. “The thing is, I came up against an explosive striker, I didn’t get touched in the face at all. So, because of my style, I’m fortunate with my style to be able to keep going back and forth from fight to fight to fight. As long as, touch wood, everything goes according to plan each time and I’m not busted up, then 100 per cent I’d want to get straight back in, that’s where I’m happiest.”
The stylish striker isn’t complicating things by demanding specific names, although he would like to get someone that boosts him up the rankings.
“I want to try and get top 10,” Page said. “I feel like my fight at middleweight hopefully gives me some brownie points to get a top 10 fight at welterweight.”
What do you think, Maniacs? Who should the UFC match Michael “Venom” Page up against next?
