After signing star attacker Jamal Musiala to a long-term contract, Bayern Munich executives Max Eberl and Christoph Freund let out a sigh of relief.
“Top clubs across the world look for players who can make the difference, and Jamal Musiala stands out there. He’s shaping the present at Bayern and will also shape the future, is the face of our new generation. In Jamal we’ve managed to convince one of the most coveted players in the world of our long-term plan at Bayern. Players like him allow us to send out a clear message to everyone that Bayern are to be reckoned with in the future as well,” said Eberl, Bayern Munich’s board member for sport (via FCBayern.com).
As for sporting director Christoph Freund, Musiala was a key figure to get signed to an extension.
“Jamal Musiala always creates genius solutions with his outstanding ability on the pitch. That’s his gift. Despite his young age, he already holds a lot of responsibility. You can sense that he quickly absorbed the Bayern philosophy at the FC Bayern Campus. We’re delighted to be taking on our lofty goals with him in the coming years,” said Freund.
There is no rest for the weary, though. Eberl and Freund will get back to work as there are other key figures of the squad also in need of an extension.
