Wales flanker Alex Callender is unsure of her club future but is “really enjoying” playing for Brython Thunder in the Celtic Challenge.
Callender, 23, and Wales team-mates Ffion Lewis, Carys Cox, Natalia John, Hannah Bluck and Carys Phillips were left without a club after Worcester Warriors Women collapsed last October.
Phillips joined Harlequins and Cox signed for Trailfinders in England.
Callender, Bluck and John are getting game time in the Celtic Challenge.
Meanwhile Lewis continues to recover from a knee injury.
Callender captains Brython Thunder, one of two Welsh sides in the cross-border competition, and they are based at Llanelli’s Parc y Scarlets.
They are looking for their first win when they take on Irish side Wolfhounds at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday, 27 January (19:30 GMT).
“I’m really enjoying being here,” Callender said.
“It’s right by my house to be honest, and for me not to be travelling two-and-a-half hours to a club is brilliant.
“I have more energy when I’m training, I have more energy out on the field.
“I’m just really enjoying my rugby at the moment and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
Callender has been one of Wales’ standout players in recent years despite her inexperience.
She was the top tackler in the Rugby World Cup in 2022 and is renowned for her work at the breakdown. She has also crossed five times in her 32 Wales appearances.
Callender is expected to be named in Ioan Cunningham’s Six Nations squad.
She said it has been good to “get game time under my belt” as Wales look to build on a successful 2023 championship in which they won three matches and secured an all-time high world ranking of sixth.
“I want to get a consistent performance each week,” Callender added.
“It’s about going out, putting a performance in and leading from the front as well.”
Wales begin their Six Nations campaign at home to Scotland at Cardiff Arms Park on 23 March.
