Bayern Munich legend Uli Hoeneß made waves this week (again) when he spoke openly about wanting Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz at Bayern Munich.
Following Bayern Munich’s 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen, where the attacking group lacked bite, Wirtz became a hot topic once again.
“Florian Wirtz is one of the best German players – and you know that we want the best [German] players to be with us. That’s why Uli is certainly right,” Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said (as captured by Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau via @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl also was brought into the mix and did not deny the squad could use a Wirtz-induced boost.
“Christoph Freund has already said it – Dreaming is allowed. We want to finalize our contracts, our ‘internal transfers’, first. And then we’ll see what’s possible,” Eberl said (as captured by Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch via @iMiaSanMia).
This will surely go over well at Bayer Leverkusen…
