Coming off a big road win at Texas State, Arizona State won another battle on Friday.
Wahiawa (Hawaii) Leilehua offensive tackle Manamo’ui Muti, the highest-rated uncommitted recruit in Hawaii, announced his commitment to the Sun Devils.
WHAT MANAMO’UI MUTI SAYS ABOUT THE SCHOOL
“My brother (NFL lineman Netane Muti) trains in Arizona in the offseason so I’ve taken multiple unofficial visits there while I was up training in Arizona with him.
“Coach (Kenny) Dillingham is really good. I like his energy and the way he coaches.”
“Coach Saga (Tuitele) is the main coach recruiting me and he’s a real cool coach too.”
WHO ELSE WAS IN THE MIX
Muti narrowed his focus to a trio of schools with Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon in the final three. He had officially visited Cal and UCLA in the spring and took an unofficial visit to Washington in late July, and all three were in serious consideration, but Arizona, the only finalist he officially visited and Oregon, which made a late surge, couldn’t catch Arizona State, which had quietly remained in his recruitment and gives Tuitele, the offensive line coach and Dillingham, the head coach, a nice win.
WHERE MANAMO’UI MUTI RANKS AS A RECRUIT
Muti is a three-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, Muti is the No. 49 tackle nationally and the No. 4 recruit in Hawaii in his class by 247Sports while the composite slots him as the No. 45 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 5 recruit in Hawaii in 2025.
HOW MANAMO’UI MUTI FITS WITH THE SCHOOL
Muti is the sixth offensive lineman to join the Sun Devils class in 2025, but is the highest-rated lineman that Arizona State has a commitment from. A true tackle prospect, he’s the fourth offensive tackle among the six linemen that the Sun Devils have landed and provides some instant impact ability at the next level.
WHAT WE THINK ABOUT MANAMO’UI MUTI
“Displays above average athleticism at the right tackle position, accompanied by promising knee-bending ability and hip flexibility out of his stance. Muti, , shows good body quickness in pass and run sets, and while his naturally higher center of gravity can compromise leverage, he’s capable of redirecting and recovering. Muti possesses great size and a solid athletic foundation that includes basketball and rugby. He’s also the younger brother of 2020 NFL Draft sixth-round pick Netane Muti, who now plays for the Lions. Muti owns plenty of long-term potential.” — Cooper Petagna, national recruiting analyst
