Keyron Crawford just remembers trying to cross people over like he did in basketball. He did anything that he could do to get the quarterback.
“They just told me basically, ‘Go out and get the football,'” Crawford told 247Sports.
Back then, Crawford was a senior in high school. It was his first-ever season playing football. He’d been recruited to Memphis (Tenn.) Briarcrest Christian to play basketball.
But while on campus one day, his basketball coach called over the football coach and said, “You have to see this kid.”
That’s when the football coach said something that’d change Crawford’s path: “You’re going to be a Division I athlete.”
All he had to do was play football.
