The 2024-25 college football season has entered territory not seen since “The Greatest Generation” with No. 23 Army and No. 25 Navy simultaneously ranked for the first time since 1960 and both undefeated for the first time since 1945.
With both programs entering the season as members of the American Athletic Conference, the results through Week 7 suggest the two could meet twice in one season.
If the teams finish first and second in the conference, they would meet in either in Annapolis, Maryland, or West Point, New York, (whichever finished first would host) to battle it out for the AAC title.
The very next week (Dec. 14), they would meet again in Landover, Maryland, at Northwest Field for the annual Army-Navy Game to decide who claims the Commander-in-Chief Trophy.
Black Knights head coach Jeff Monken told the crew of “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday that that scenario is nowhere on his radar at the moment, while also taking a shot at the rival Midshipmen.
