Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze knows it doesn’t look good down on The Plains.
His Tigers are 2-3 after losses to Cal, Arkansas and now No. 19 Oklahoma, but to make matters worse, that loss to the Sooners should have really been a win.
Auburn took a 21-10 lead into the fourth quarter but got outscored, 17-0, in the final stanza to ultimately lose, 27-21.
After a 6-7 season last year with a loss in the Music City Bowl, this downright terrible start for Auburn isn’t going to make Freeze any friends amongst a fanbase that normally has championship expectations.
Still, the veteran head coach is pleading for patience amongst Auburn’s fanbase. He thinks rather than just being a bad team, the Tigers are simply going through growing pains.
