The third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy between Australia and India promises to be a pivotal contest, not just for the series but also for the race to secure a place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. With both teams eyeing the ultimate goal, the match is set to provide high drama and intense cricket.
Scheduled to take place at the iconic Gabba in Brisbane from Saturday, December 14, to Wednesday, December 18, the encounter holds historical and strategic significance. The Gabba, which has been a fortress for Australia for decades, was famously breached by India during their previous tour, making this fixture even more intriguing.

The Gabba Pitch Report
The Gabba is known for providing good pace and bounce, which favours fast bowlers, and a similar pitch is expected for this Test match.
While the pitch’s pace can be a boon for bowlers, batters who adapt to the bounce and get their eye in often find it conducive for free scoring, especially with the drop-in pitch now in place. Statistically, there is no significant advantage for teams batting first or second at this venue.
Curator David Sandurski has emphasized that the pitch is expected to be fresher and more conducive to fast bowling. “Different times of year definitely makes it different, it can be a slightly different pitch,” Sandurski told the Australian media ahead of the third Test.
