Bayern Munich was busy at the transfer window as they recalled, sold, and loaned out players all across Europe. Tel was sent over to Tottenham, but was unable to help them in their cup matches this week — though he did score his debut goal. Gabriel Vidović was recalled to Munich and Taichi Fukui was sold to his loan team on a permanent deal. Read what else the loanees did this week:
FC Bayern Munich
There are nine players on loan from the first team.
Germany – Bundesliga
There are five players on loan in the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Franz Krätzig, Paul Wanner, Armando Sieb, and Gabriel Vidovic.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
After losing twice in two competitions — and being kicked out of the Champions League — last week, Stuttgart returned to their winning ways twice this week. First on Tuesday, Nübel started in goal and earned man of the match in the DFB-Pokal match at home against Augsburg. He recorded three saves while shutting out his opponents. Stuttgart just needed one goal to win and advance to the semi-finals of the Pokal.
Nübel and Stuttgart travelled to Dortmund to face Bayern’s former coach, Niko Kovač for his debut with BVB — which was spoiled thanks for Nübel and his teammates. Nübel had four saves and only allowed one late goal, that made it interesting, but was not consequential. Stuttgart scored two goals to win 2-1 on the road.
Stuttgart will host Wolfsburg on Friday.
Franz Krätzig – 1.FC Heidenheim
Krätzig started for Heidenheim on the road against Freiburg and played 67 minutes. He did not have a shot attempt, nor did he create a chance for his teammates to shoot, but he completed 87% of his passes. He was subbed off for Wanner when his team was down 1-0.
Krätzig was not registered for the Conference League knockout rounds these next two weeks.
Paul Wanner – 1.FC Heidenheim
Wanner entered the match at Freiburg in the 67th minute with Heidenheim down 1-0. He had one shot that came from way outside on a set piece, which required a save. He also completed 100% of his passes. Unfortunately this was not enough to help Heidenheim find a goal. Heidenheim fell 1-0.
Heidenheim will travel to Denmark to face FC Kobenhavn on Thursday in the Conference League. They will also host Mainz on Sunday in the Bundesliga.
Armindo Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Sieb started on the bench for Mainz at home against Augsburg. He entered a scoreless match in the 85th minute. He only had four touches and completed his only pass attempt. The match ended scoreless to earn Mainz one point at home.
Mainz will travel to face Heidenheim.
Gabriel Vidović – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Vidović was recalled from loan this week. He will play with Bayern for the remainder of the season.
England – Premier League
Mathys Tel is the only player on loan to England’s Premier League
Mathys Tel – Tottenham Hotspur
After a lot of drama and some back and forth, Tel landed in North London with Spurs. Tottenham had a huge week with two cup matches against formidable opponents. He made his debut on Thursday against Liverpool in the League Cup semifinal. Spurs took a 1-0 lead from the first match, but knew that probably would not hold up at Anfield. Tel started on the bench, but came in as a halftime sub, down 1-0 (1-1 on aggregate). He was not the savior that most Spurs fans were hoping for. He had a low passing percentage and did not get a shot off, nor create any chances for his teammates. The wheels fell off in the second half and Tottenham fell 4-0.
On Sunday, Tottenham travelled to face Aston Villa at Villa Park in the FA Cup. Tel started, but saw Spurs go down in the first minute. Villa doubled their lead in the second half. Tel did not have much success with passing again, but he created two chances to shoot. He did not attempt a shot until the first minute of stoppage time, but scored with his only attempt to make it 2-1. Unfortunately, that was all for Spurs’ scoring and they were eliminated from the second cup competition this week.
Tottenham will host Manchester United in League Play on Sunday.
Spain – LaLiga
There are two players on loan to Spain’s La Liga: Bryan Zaragoza and Adam Anzou.
Bryan Zaragoza – CA Osasuna

From the bench he watched his team go down two goals within 31 minutes and then receive a red card in the 35th minute. Zaragoza came into the match in the 60th minute. In 30 minutes, he only had 12 touches and created just one chance for his teammates to shoot, bud did not have a shot of his own. The scoreline did not change after the two early goals and they were eliminated by the score of 2-0.
Osasuna will face Mallorca on the road on Monday before hosting Real Madrid on Saturday.
Adam Anzou – Real Valladolid
Anzou went on loan from Bayern to last place Real Valladolid this week. He has only appeared for Bayern’s first team a hand full of times, but has already featured three times for the Moroccan national team.
Anzou made his La Liga debut when he came off the bench in the 58th minute for Real Valladolid. Just eleven minutes into his appearance, he received a yellow card for a bad foul. A few minutes later, the hosts, Rayo Vallecano, scored the match’s only goal. Anzou did not influence the match and saw his team fall 1-0.

Matteo Pérez Vinlöf – Austria Wien
Vinlöf started against Sturm Graz in league play against Sturm Graz. He did not have a shot, nor a chance for his teammates to shoot. He received a yellow card shortly before being subbed off. This yellow puts him at the limit and he will miss the next match due to suspension. Other than that, Vinlöf did not accomplish much.
