Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer was proud of his team’s 1-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.
Neuer was not overly busy, but did play a role in helping the squad secure three vital points over a good team.
“I would say that we deserved to win. We definitely missed a lot of chances. Their goalkeeper had a great day. We can be very happy and satisfied with this win. It was simply deserved. We could have gone behind [Kleindienst chance], there’s no doubt about that. But we missed a lot of good chances. With all the chances we created, it was only a matter of time before we scored,” Neuer said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
For Neuer, it was a triumphant return to the starting XI following a stint on the injured list due to a rib injury. The clean sheet might have helped ease any lingering pain.
