With their pursuit of Kieran Trippier canceled and negotiations over a deal for Nordi Mukiele stalled, German record champions FC Bayern München are – according to Germany’s main sporting tabloid – about to strike quickly in their search for a new right-back.

Sky Germany – having reported on loose interest from FC Bayern München in 23-year-old French right-back Sacha Gaston Boey of Galatasaray Istanbul for weeks – is now reporting that Bayern have obtained a verbal agreement from the player on a transfer. Germany’s main sporting tabloid goes one step further and suggests that the €22-million-valued player is due in Munich on Friday for a medical.
Bayern, who will reportedly be without makeshift right-back Konrad Laimer against Augsburg this weekend, look to strike quickly on the transfer market after attempts to acquire Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier failed and negotiations over former Leipzig and current PSG fullback Nordi Mukiele reached a total stalemate. Whether the deal shall be a sale or loan remains unknown at this point.
When Sky initially reported on Bayern’s interest in the player, it was said that the Bavarians backed off after demands for a sale by the Turkish club. This could still happen, though it’s also possible that the FCB have talked Galatasaray in a loan with a purchase option. Boey was not in his team’s squad for this evening’s league fixture. The official reason given was a foot injury.
