Michigan football standouts J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum made their 2024 NFL Draft plans official on Sunday, both choosing to enter their names following a national championship season with the Wolverines. McCarthy leaves with a sparkling 27-1 career record as Jim Harbaugh’s starting quarterback while Corum shattered various previous program records in the backfield with 58 career rushing touchdowns.
McCarthy and his team must have liked the reports he received from the NFL’s college advisory committee as a potential first-round pick in April against the likes of USC quarterback Caleb Williams, UNC’s Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels from LSU. McCarthy, a former four-star signee in the 2021 cycle, saved his best season for his junior campaign after producing 22 touchdown passes and only four interceptions.
At 5-foot-8, 210 pounds, Corum will be one of this cycle’s smaller-sized ballcarriers, but he packs a furious punch at a position of interest that will get much of its attention in the second round and beyond.
