The New England Patriots are in a bad way right now.
First-year head coach Jerod Mayo and his team have lost six consecutive games after winning in Week 1 and have a hungry New York Jets team coming to town in Week 8.
Former head coach Bill Belichick recently spoke about the current state of the team.
“The Patriots got a lot of questions to answer. Between the head coach and the atmosphere and who’s soft and who’s not soft,” Belichick said, via Savage Sports.

New England is a rebuilding team that is trying to find its way.
Rookie Drake Maye recently took over as the starting quarterback and is trying to get comfortable, but when the rest of the team isn’t performing well, that is when questions start to come.
Maye is coming off an encouraging performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, where he completed more than 70 percent of his passes, threw for two touchdowns, and didn’t turn over the ball.
However, New England gave up 32 points, which prompted Mayo to call the team “soft” in remarks to the media.
Time will tell if that comment will light a fire under his players.
On the other hand, the players could start to lose the desire to support their rookie head coach.
This certainly feels like a do-or-die regular season game for both the Pats and the Jets.
