Coming into the 2024 NFL season, no one really knew what to expect from the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they made some drastic changes during the offseason, namely at quarterback with the additions of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Despite all the uncertainty about whether Wilson or Fields would work out as the starter, head coach Mike Tomlin has brilliantly managed the season by getting the most out of the young quarterback before the veteran was healthy and ready to lead his team.
As a result of Tomlin putting on a coaching clinic this season, Pittsburgh is sitting with an impressive record of 9-3 after getting the best of the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals in a shootout in Week 13.
Wilson had his best performance for the Steelers as the team came together offensively and proved resilient after a disappointing loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick recently had nothing but high praise for the Steelers and their offensive coordinator.
“They are a very resourceful team. They find ways to win … you just can’t count them out. I think Arthur Smith has done a great job of proteceting the ball. … They’re gonna be tough to beat,” Belichick said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

The real question with the Steelers moving forward is whether they can carry their regular-season success into the NFL playoffs, where the team has struggled year after year lately.
It remains to be seen if Pittsburgh can get it done in the postseason this time, but Belichick appears to have confidence in its ability to do just that.
