ESPN’s “College GameDay” had viewers feeling like there were onions being cut Saturday morning.
With the crew in Bloomington, Indiana for Saturday’s Big Ten matchup between the No. 13-ranked Hoosiers and Washington, former Indiana head coach and long-time show co-host Lee Corso took a walk down memory lane.
In a homecoming of sorts, the 89-year-old appeared on set in his old Indiana sweater, which he donned during his time on the sidelines from 1973-82.
The broadcast featured a recorded sit-down with Corso and some of his old players and assistants as they reminisced about his time in Bloomington, including defeating then-No. 9 BYU in the 1979 Holiday Bowl. That win made Corso the first Hoosier head coach to lead the program to victory in a bowl game.
