Daniel Odom is a four-star wide receiver from Bellflower, California, and he’s one of the better players at his position in the 2026 class.
Odom is a 6-foot-1, 178-pound wideout and ranked as the No. 33 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He boasts more than 20 offers, but he’s decided to commit to the Oklahoma Sooners.
This is a big commitment for head coach Brent Venables and his Sooners, especially when considering that the two other programs in the running for Odom were College Football Playoff teams in Texas and Oregon.
Landing a recruit who could play for a CFP team puts Oklahoma right in that group, and the more of those top-tier recruits Venables can sign, the better Oklahoma will be. The Sooners have always been historically good, of course, but a big recruiting win like this will go a long way in soothing the hurt from the Sooners’ 6-7 2024 season.
Odom took in a junior day recruiting event in Norman this past weekend, which motivated him on to commit to Oklahoma.
“The energy was great from the coaches to the staff,” Odom told Collin Ginnan of On3. “And also the players during their workout, great place and group of people to be around. I think what excites me is building my relationship with Coach Venables and Coach Emmett Jones and seeing myself make a big impact as a freshman in that school.”
Odom is Venables’ fourth 2026 commitment and second four-star, joining quarterback Jaden O’Neal.
