We haven’t completed the 2025 best golf rangefinder testing yet. However, the Bushnell Pro X3+, the winner of the 2024 Best Golf Rangefinder test, has recently been spotted on sale. If you are in the market and really want to see what sets the Bushnell rangefinder apart from the competition, we have you covered.
How we tested Bushnell rangefinders
For our 2024 testing, we captured measurements at 100, 150, 200 and 250 yards for 28 rangefinders. Three of them were Bushnell. We also looked at speed, optics, features and practicality as well as overall user experience.
The Bushnell Pro X3+ finished first, the Tour V6 Shift fourth and the Tour V6 seventh. Three Bushnell rangefinders in the top 10!
What gives the Pro X3+ the edge
Here are a few reasons why the X3+ stood out as the best overall rangefinder in 2024.
Consistent accuracy at all distances
We tested yardages extensively and the Pro X3+ gave virtually the same reading every single time. It advertises accuracy within one yard and we found that true. Most importantly, it gives accurate distances even when trees are behind the green or when shooting from difficult angles.
It finds the pin fast
Testers noted that the Bushnell Pro X3+ picks up on the flag rather quickly when faced with a busy background. Compared to other premium models, it was just as fast and sometimes faster.
Crystal-clear view
Several testers found the Pro X3+’s optics were so clear that they rarely had to reshoot to confirm yardages. The wide field of view is also very clear. The X3+’s fast speeds and clear view make it a user-friendly rangefinder that won’t slow down your round of golf.
It’s durable (even if it’s a bit heavy)
Only you know how rough you will be on your golf equipment. The Pro X3+ is a little heavier than some competitors but it feels sturdy. It can handle rain, mist or fog and still give accurate readings. This one is built to last.
Great features
The Bushnell Pro has slope functionality and an on/off slope switch to ensure tournament compliance. It also features a built-in magnet that is strong enough to keep the unit on the golf cart frame.
