Bayern Munich’s struggle to involve Mathys Tel in the squad is rather alarming, with the 19-year-old stuck at just under 400 minutes and 2 starts at the time of writing, more than halfway through the season. Tel has repeatedly emphasized his desire to succeed at Bayern and recently renewed his contract until 2029. But combine these struggles with Chelsea FC’s reported interest in the youngster, and, via @iMiaSanMia, Tel might eventually budge:
Chelsea are still pushing to sign Mathys Tel on a permanent deal. If Vincent Kompany continues to plan without him, then Tel could reconsider his decision to stay.
Remember, Bayern executive Max Eberl called him, in the official announcement of his contract extension, “an important foundation for the future of the team.” Selling the incredibly talented Frenchman less than a year after such statements would be a real kick in the teeth. But so would seeing Tel sitting on the bench for the entire season. What will it be? What is the plan to see Tel fulfill his obvious potential in Munich? As of now, it seems rather unclear.
