The Kansas City Chiefs have nothing to play for in the final game of the regular season.
They could sit all their starters, get blown out, and they would still have the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Andy Reid’s team will likely take a cautious approach to that final game vs. the Denver Broncos.
They know they’re playing for something bigger, as they can make history by becoming the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row.
Considering that, former NFL player Chris Canty shared his updated list of the top five challengers for the Chiefs after Week 17.

At No. 5, he has Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Jackson is playing at an MVP level this season, and the Ravens were close to beating them in the first week of the season.
Then again, Jackson has also left a lot to be desired in the playoffs.
Then, he has the Philadelphia Eagles.
There are legitimate doubts about Nick Sirianni, but Vic Fangio’s defense is stellar.
Saquon Barkley has been unstoppable, and they could beat any team in the league.
Canty has the Detroit Lions at No. 3.
The Lions might finish the season with the best record in the NFC, and they boast the most explosive offense in the entire league.
However, they’re also pretty banged up, and some are worried about Dan Campbell’s decision-making.
Then, he has the Minnesota Vikings.
Sam Darnold should be a legitimate MVP candidate.
Kevin O’Connel”s team has only lost two games all season, and they’ve beaten multiple contenders.
Last but not least, he has the Buffalo Bills.
Josh Allen is the odds-on favorite to win MVP.
Moreover, they’re the only team to beat the Chiefs so far this season.
