The Pittsburgh Steelers started the 2024 NFL season on fire but have slowly started to show their weaknesses on the field to close out the year.
The Steelers have struggled to score in the past month and are entering the 2025 NFL playoffs on a four-game losing streak.
Pittsburgh dropped their regular-season finale to the Cincinnati Bengals, losing the game 19-17 and showing the NFL that perhaps they weren’t a very serious postseason contender.
Head coach Mike Tomlin always finds a way to get the most out of his rosters, though it appears that the cracks in this current iteration of the team are showing.
Now, there’s serious doubt whether the Steelers will win a game in the postseason or go home with more questions to answer.
Analysts like Colin Cowherd took a shot at Pittsburgh’s woes shortly after the loss to Cincinnati via his personal X account.
“The Steelers never really change. It’s just slight variations of the same team,” Cowherd said.

While Cowherd seems to overgeneralize a bit, it’s hard to argue with his main point that the Steelers seem to win and lose games in a similar fashion every year.
At this point, it’s fair to say that Pittsburgh’s got a high floor because of their defense but the offense holds them back most years.
Offensively, the Steelers have struggled to put up points, and that usually goes back to their quarterback situation.
The combination of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields appears capped out upside-wise, so seeing how this plays out in the offseason will be interesting.
