There is only one top-25 game on the Week 6 college football schedule, but that does not prevent the slate from carrying College Football Playoff implications. Some of the nation’s top teams have to hit the road, and others face sneaky opponents as upset potential looms in a number of contests. Missouri and Texas A&M headline the Saturday action in an impactful SEC clash, while road tests for Michigan and Tennessee are among the other notable matchups.
With conference play fully underway, the stakes are all the higher for teams vying for spots in the inaugural 12-team field. There is little margin for error in the expanded Power Four leagues as conference title races heat up, and teams that already have a loss on their ledger are playing with fire in the hunt for one of the final Playoff bids.
There is another meaningful Group of Five game on the schedule, too, with one of the two ranked teams from that level squaring off against a Power Four opponent.
